Traveling home from LA. Not all it's cracked up to be !

It is Saturday morning here 11.30 am I guess still middle of the night for you. I have been home since Tuesday 3rd. Got into Alicante about 10.30 night time after travelling for over 24 hours. I think I have seen enough of airports now to last a lifetime. I cannot believe yesterday I turned the TV on and it was American Airline. A fly on the wall documetary about people being made miserable by airlines. I cannot believe I was watching it. I thought I was back there. The only equivelant I can think of is those poor souls from war torn parts of the world watching programs about the holocaust !

I thought I was going to be flown directly from LA to heathrow then on to Alicante, but somebody in the booking office must of told them how much I enjoy sitting around for flipping hours in Madrid, so they sent me there for a rest between flights! So there I am once again in the Iberia terminal too early to be told whether my gate is H.J. or frigging K so I don't know which uncomfortable seat to crash out on.

The Jumbo from LA was noisy, but it was especially noisy for the rest of the passengers, particulary the poor unfortuanate sod sat next to me. Apparently my vocal chords are honed to perfection to such an extent that when I snore I can prevent my immediate neihbours from getting any sleep whatsoever. A feat that the four Rolls Royce Pratt and Whitney Olympus jet engines running at full throttle only ten feet away apparently cannot match! It's a funny thing about airplanes isn't it. If you go into a library and scream, everybody in the place tells you to shush up. Do it on an airplane, and they all join in! But don't you think our jet setting life is something else. The concept never ceases to amaze me. Breakfast In Alicante, Lunch in London, Dinner in New York and all your luggage in Singapore!

Any way back in Spain. I was faced with a Dilema on the way back from Hawaii. Absoulutely gagging to get home, mainly to see my friends, I had an email from Gary Parkes asking if I could if needed do another cruise run. That would have been another 2 weeks on the Regal Princess. I had had enough by then, but I knew that after a couple of weeks at home had I said no, I would have regreted it. How wrong was I ! I am back 3 days and it is so shitty here on all sorts of levels, I am regretting it already! But as it happened the extention wasn't needed
